JMC 309: Data Storytelling Final Project

This project was completed in a data storytelling course focused on analyzing datasets and communicating insights through writing and visualization.

The data story analyzes how COVID-19 layoffs affected employment in New York City and Chicago, focusing on how different industries recovered over time. Using datasets from Kaggle and YCharts, our team cleaned and analyzed layoff data, then created visualizations to highlight patterns in unemployment and industry resilience during the pandemic. My role included helping build and refine the dataset, creating multiple data visualizations, and writing portions of the story and presentation.​
